Nigerians on social media are expressing their displeasure with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), the controversial unit in the country's Police Force, following the incessant robbery attacks experienced in some South-West states.
Allnews reports that there have reported incidents of robbery in Ogun, Oyo and Lagos states amid the lockdown occasioned by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
There has been public evidence of human rights violations committed by SARS in recent years. However, the Police hierarchy only decentralized the unit - in January 2019.

With armed robbery cases increasing as Nigerians 'stay at home', many Twitter users are unimpressed by the professionalism of SARS - even though some arrest has been made.

Sars in full meaning “special anti robbery squad”.
They’re the ones meant to fight and protect us, but no, they’d rather go after an innocent citizen just to extort him/her.
If they can’t intervene in times like these, then they’re of no use to Nigerians #LagosUnrest1

About the #LagosUnrest and #OgunUnrest don't you guys think that @PoliceNG should disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and get to work themselves since the Squad has turned docile...
