MFM FC midfielder, Akanni Elijah, says the Lagos-based side’s win over Enyimba FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last Thursday was a difficult one.
Elijah told AllNews that last week's victory over league heavyweights, Enyimba, was an encouragement.
The Olukoya Boys boosted their hope of league survival with a 1-0 win over visiting Enyimba in a rescheduled NPFL game at the Agege Stadium. It was their first maximum points after nine attempts versus The Peoples’ Elephants.
Prior to the game, MFM FC were not in their best form, and they had never come out victorious against Enyimba. But they grinded out the win.
“We give thanks to God for the victory. It was not easy, but we were determined. We spoke about the importance of this match before kick-off, and Almighty God did it for us,” Elijah told AllNews.
”I believe we can still do more than this because the win gave us motivation to step up in our game,” MFM no.10 stated.
