Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has disclosed that he, alongside members of his family, has tested positive for coronavirus
He said, “My coronavirus test was positive yesterday,” in a video on Facebook, stating that members of his family also contracted the virus.
Nikol said that he had no "visible symptoms” and that he would stay at home to carry out his duties.
Armenia has recorded 9,492 confirmed cases, with 139 fatalities.
The former Soviet republic has a population of nearly three million people, with the patients confirmed to have the disease filling up hospitals in the country, overwhelming the health system, leading to health authorities in the country to restrict ICUs to patients in highly critical conditions with a chance of survival.

A state of emergency was imposed on the country to curb the spread of the virus was lifted on May 4, with Nikol stating that his administration failed to enforce stringent anti-viral measures, leading to citizens violating the quarantine order.
