In the face of the pandemic crisis, Lebanese citizens took to the streets on Friday to protest the country's corruption and economic hardship.
The protesters hurled stones at security agents who sent teargas into the protesting crowd to disperse them as they attempted to reach the parliamentarian house, this is according to AFP.
Ignoring the 7pm curfew set by the government, the protesters, burning tyres at the Al-Nour square, continued to chant loudly as they have been since the 17th of October, protesting bad governance.
The rallies that began last year due to a rise in taxes transformed into a protest that called for the overtuning of the country's political elite, leading to the resignation of the country's Prime Minister, Saad Hariri.

A protester, who was protesting against the incessant rise in prices asked, “Are we going to die of hunger or die of coronavirus?”
Another protester, simply identified as Fatima, said, “They can try to scare us as much as they want, tell us ‘stay at home, you’ll be contaminated.
“But the Lebanese people won’t let it pass any more.”
