Senate Charges EFCC To Rebrand Its Fight Against Corruption

The Senate Committee on Anti Corruption and Financial has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to reform and rebrand its fight against corruption and other economic and financial crime.

Making this call during the 9th Senate Legislative Anti Corruption Strategy Implementation Session at the National Assembly Complex, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-corruption and Financial Crimes, Senator Suleiman Kwari, said the Senate whish to see a reformed and rebranded EFCC.

Revealing that the lawmakers is desirous of a reformed and rebranded Anti-graft agency, a tweet by EFCC read: 

"The Senate Committee on Anti Corruption and Financial has expressed the desire of the Upper Legislative assembly to see a reformed and rebranded Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its fight against corruption, economic and financial crimes in the country."

It will be recalled that the Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami had accused  Ibrahim Magu, the embattled chairman of EFCC of gross misconduct.

Following the allegations, President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration however set up a panel to investigate the AGF's claims against Magu.
