Sunday Igboho Is A Child Of Circumstance — Omisore

Omisore Gabriel, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun State has described Sunday Igboho as a child of circumstance.

Recall about a month ago, Igboho who came to the limelight after suspected herdsmen attacked the Ibarapa community area in Oyo State was arrested in Cotonou while trying to travel to Germany.

This followed the activist's fleeing Nigeria after the Department of State Services (DSS) declared him wanted.

DSS declared Igboho wanted after an invasion of his house, and weapons were discovered during the raid.

While Igboho is currently standing trial in Cotonou, the Nigerian government is yet to level any charges against the agitator.

However, in an exclusive chat with AllNews Nigeria, Omisore Gabriel described Igboho as a child of circumstance, one who appeared as a saviour for the  the Ibarapa community through their troubles in the hands of rouge herdsmen.

Gabrial said, "Sunday Igboho is a child of circumstances. The killings in Ibarapa was too much and the people needed a messiah. Igboho came in to help and the rest is history.

"Even though I’ve my personal reservations on this matter because it’s a sensitive one. I believe the FG can also do better. This is our country, we’ve nowhere to run to. The FG should make everybody feels they are citizens of this great country Nigeria".

In another news, lawyer Olusegun Falola during a radio interview monitored by The Nation claimed Sunday Igboho would have been left for the worse if the Buhari government had succeeded in capturing him like the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

On moves to secure the Yoruba activist freedom, he said: “Igboho’s arrest shows he was cheated because he didn’t commit any criminal offense.

“I plead with all Yorubas and Nigerians at large, don’t see Sunday Igboho as a convict, see him as someone who is under Benin Republic’s protection. Igboho is only staying underground for now until when there is breath of fresh air.

“Nigeria did not show up in court or bring up evidence against Sunday Igboho. So there are no criminal charges against him. When Igboho leaves prison, he’ll demand asylum from other countries including France, and they will be ready to receive him.

“So he’ll return back to Nigeria when the administration that is against him leaves office.”

He stated that if Nigeria is not yet secure for Igboho after his release from Benin prison, he would have to transfer all his business activities from Ibadan to Cotonou.
