Super Eagles Star Etebo Joins Aris Thessaloniki From Stoke C

Oghenekaro Etebo

Greek Super League side Aris Thessaloniki FC have confirmed the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo from Stoke City on a permanent deal.

Etebo has struggled to live up to expectations at Stoke City after joining the club in 2018 and he was left out of the squad for the 2022-23 Championship season.

The 26-year-old has spent time out on loan at Getafe and Galatasaray while on the books of Stoke City.

He spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Watford in the Premier League before he sustained a knee injury in September, which ruled him out for six months.

He, however, returned to Stoke City after Watford lost their top-flight status.

Aris is managed by English manager Alan Pardew, and they finished third in the Greek Super League last season.

Etebo has been pencilled down to make his debut for Aris Thessaloniki against Olympiakos on Sunday.

The former Warri Wolves star is expected to be part of the Super Eagles squad to face Algeria in a friendly match on September 27.
