Thibaut Courtois is set to wear the Legendary No. 1 jersey worn by Iker Casillas and Keylor Navas after joining the Madrid squad, leaving the Belgium national team due to the COVID-19 positive test hanging over the Belgian goalkeeper's head.
Thibaut Courtois 28, is on his third spell at the Spanish capital club, Madrid after winning the La Liga trophy with Madrid during the 2019-20 season of which he was instrumental to, with big saves and clean sheets after the restart of the Spanish La Liga.

He had always won the No. 13 Jersey at Genk, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.

"When Real Madrid asked me to play with the No. 1 Jersey, I felt honored," Courtois wrote in a statement on his website.
"Wearing the No.1 is the ultimate reward to celebrate a tough, but successful past season.
"It motivates me, even more, to turn that number into greater results."
Courtois also recognized the significance of the No.1 shirt at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
"Playing as No.1 also has an important symbolic value," he added.
"Without a doubt, it's an iconic number for any goalkeeper to wear.
"Following the footsteps of true icons at Real Madrid like Iker Casillas, Ricardo Zamora, Bodo Illgner, and Francisco Buyo, I'm grateful to represent the best club in the world.
"It's no secret that Iker Casillas is my biggest example amongst those legendary goalkeepers.
"Even though he decided to end his career on the field, he'll remain my all-time No.1.
"Like Iker, I hope to experience great moments with this No.1 on my back and make the whole Real Madrid family proud.
