Three Brothers In Police Net For Allegedly Kidnapping, Murde

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three suspects identified as brothers for the kidnap and murder of one Mrs. Janet Nnenna Ogbonnaya. 

The suspects identified as, Johnson Emmanuel – 38, Gideon Emmanuel – 31, and Success Emmanuel – 27, who are native of  Isiekenesi in Ideato LGA of Imo State were arrested in their home town where they went to hide after committing the crime on May 14.

In a statement issued on June 4, 2020, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, confirmed the arrest of the brothers.

MBA recalled that one Chinedu Ogbonnaya had alleged that his mother, Ogbonnaya, 55, a native of Ozuitem in Bende LGA of Abia State had been kidnapped and a 5 million naira ransom demanded.

After all investigations were carried out, Mba noted the evidence proved that the victim was a widow, who had been a Facebook friend of Johnson Emmanuel, was lured from her home in Gwagwalada to visit the suspect where she was drugged and murdered.

Having killed the victim, the Emmanuel brothers buried her remains in a septic tank before calling the victim’s family using her phone and demanded N5million.

“Meanwhile, today 4th June 2020, the suspects led a team of investigators alongside pathologists to a residence at Wumba District, Lokogoma, Abuja where the victim’s decomposing body was exhumed from a septic tank.”

In addition, the  Intelligence Response Unit of the Police also found the deceased Toyota Highlander Jeep at a mechanic workshop in Apo with ownership of the vehicle now, Johnson Emmanuel.

Meanwhile, the suspect also sold the house where the crime was committed to cover all tracks leading to them as the culprits.
