Arsenal are considering a move for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho as an option for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Sky Sports reports that the Gunners see a potential opportunity as the player is into the final six months of his contract with Chelsea trying to finalise a deal for Enzo Fernandez.
Arsenal however remain ready to do a deal for Moises Caicedo if Brighton change their "not for sale" stance.
The Seagulls had rejected the Gunners initial 60m bid and fresh 70m bid for Caicedo who pleaded with Brighton to allow him move to the Emirates like former team-mate Leandro Trossard.
According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, “Caicedo remains the priority but Brighton have absolutely no plan to change their stance, it’s really difficult.
“Jorginho is another option on the table; Serie A return has always been his priority, but he’d be open to join Arsenal.
"It’s up to Arsenal, if they want to proceed or not; he’s one of the player they have been considering in the last ten days.”
It's now a race against time for Arsenal who are pushing hard to strengthen the midfield area on Deadline Day.
