Why Peter Obi's Supporters Have Shelved Nationwide Protest — Charly Boy

Why Peter Obi's Supporters Have Shelved Nationwide Protest

Outlandish singer and actor Charly Boy has revealed that supporters of Peter Obi have decided to shelve the planned nationwide protest.

There have been reports that 'Obidients' would take to the streets across the different states of the federation to express their dissatisfaction with the violence that marred the 2023 general elections and the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking on the protest, Obi had clarified that such reports emanated from the opposition camp and asked that Labour Party supporters give him and his legal team the chance to fight the battle in court.

The former Anambra governor officially filed a petition on Tuesday challenging Bola Tinubu's victory and candidacy.

Providing what seems to be an update on Wednesday, Charly Boy, who is a staunch supporter of Obi, disclosed that the protest would no longer take place, a decision made to allow the courts to do their job.

"The Exceptional Nigerian youths, lovers of a New Nigeria and fellow Obidients, after due consultations across board, we have decided to shelve the planned Nationwide peace rally to allow the courts to do their job.

"Since our principal has already started the court process, we have decided to let him head the protest in court while we the lovers of new Nigeria support him.

"We will be solidly behind him in every way and every form necessary", he said in the social media post.
