'Your Odogwu Don Cut Hair', Nigerians Bash Burna Boy For Rej

The Twitter community has been buzzing since self-proclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy turned down activist, Omoyele Sowore's call for him to join anti-government protest on Nigeria's Independence day.

AllNews reports that Sowore and his group are embarking on a protest against President Muhammadu Buhari's administration on October 1st with series of hashtags trending on Twitter including #OccupyNigeria.

In a tweet on Tuesday, September 29, the activist reached out to Burna Boy who according to him, has been compared to late Fela Kuti.

Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow movement asked the "Ye" crooner to join in the protest.

"Hello @burnaboy, everywhere I turn people describe you as a revolutionary musician, the foreign media even celebrate you compare you to Fela Kuti, but I am yet to see you lead anyone to a police station carrying a coffin for head of state! Join #Oct1stProtest #RevolutionNow," he tweeted.

Responding, the singer said "Everybody is a Fela fan and supporter now that he is dead. Humans are so Funny, You politicians are ALL the same (especially in Nigeria) and Frankly, I don’t trust none of you.@YeleSowore."

Burna Boy's response did not sit well with Twitter users who said he claims that Fela's blood runs in his veins, but cannot join a protest.
