Nollywood icon Funke Akindele has been named as one of the nominees for the position of running mate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos, Olajide Adediran.
The popular actress made headlines recently following the revelation by her husband JJC Skillz that their marriage had hit the rocks.
Per a Pulse report, Akindele's nomination was disclosed by Adediran's spokesperson who revealed that the Nollywood star is one of five persons being considered for the running mate position.

"Funke Akindele hasn’t been confirmed as Jandor’s running mate. Funke is one of the five nominees to be Jandor’s running mate.
"She was nominated alongside four other people, whose names are Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Kolawole Vaughan, Adenike Shobajo and [Rasheed] Teslim-Balogun. Jandor has not named anyone as his running mate yet", the statement reads.
Akindele joins colleague Tonto Dikeh who was chosen as the running mate for Tonte Ibraye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State.
