Gunmen have abducted a member of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto identified as Tony Udemezue in Tambuwal, Sokoto State.
According to reports, Udemezue was abducted in the early hours of Monday at his residence.
This is coming days after a Catholic priests was killed in Kaduna by his abductors.
Confirming the incident, the Director of Communications at the Diocese of Sokoto, Rev. Fr. Chris Omotosho told Vanguard that Udemezue was abducted around 2 am on Monday.
“One of my parishioners in Tambuwal, Sokoto State, Tony Udemezue has just been kidnapped in his own house.
“No police has responded in the last 1 hour (since 2 am) despite the fact that they were called by him before he was taken away.
“Please let us keep him and his family in prayers."
