The bill requesting the upgrade of the College of Education, Ilesa to a university has been passed into law by the Osun State House of Assembly.
At the plenary on Monday, the bill titled, 'Osun State establishment Bill 2022' was passed by the state's lawmakers.
Allnews Nigeria reports that the bill seeking to establish the University of Ilesa, Osun State scaled through the second reading on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Speaking on the approval of the upgrade request, the speaker of the House, Timothy Owoeye, said a committee may now be set up to see to the establishment of the university.
“Now that the Bill has been passed into law, the Governor may appoint a working Committee to see to the making of the University anytime from now,” he said.
