In late June, Kanu, a Nigerian-British citizen, was rearrested in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria to face charges of treasonable felony.
AllNews learnt that Kanu seeks transfer from the DSS custody to a correctional centre where his people will have easy access to him.
"DSS made it known to us that they have concluded interview. They call it investigation, so I don't know what he is still doing there" Ejiofor said on Wednesday during the Morning Show programme on Arise Television.
"They should transfer him to a place recognised by law, where he is supposed to be, pending when application for his bail is considered."
DSS failed to produce Kanu for his scheduled trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.
The trial was stalled not just because of Kanu’s absence from court, but also because the judges of the court began their vacation on Monday, the trial judge, Binta Nyako, said.
Mrs Nyako adjourned the case till October 21.
