Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has said that the stadium could be renamed San Paolo-Diego Armando Maradona following Maradona's death as the club will discuss renaming their stadium in his honour, combining its current title with his full iconic name.

AllNews gathered that Maradona made an immediate impact in his first season, netting 14 Serie A goals to finish behind Michel Platini and Alessandro Altobelli as the league's top scorers as Napoli finished eighth.

Even better was to come, though, as in 1986-87, the newly-crowned world champion led Napoli to their first-ever Scudetto triumph, a feat the club repeated in 1989-90.
