An update on Alexis Sanchez...#MUFC
— Manchester United (@ManUtd) August 6, 2020
Sanchez - who earned a staggering £560,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams - moved to the Serie A club on a one-season loan in August 2019 and has made 29 appearances for the San Siro side, scoring four goals.
Upon his arrival in northern Italy, he linked up with former United team-mate Romelu Lukaku and they were later joined by Ashley Young, with the trio playing their part in Inter’s second-place league finish following Serie A’s resumption.
'El Niño Maravilla' became the first Chilean to play a competitive game for United after moving from Arsenal in January 2018, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the opposite direction.
The 31-year-old netted five goals in 45 appearances for the Reds.
The former Barcelona man could yet have a quickfire reunion with Ole Gunnar Solskjær's men in 2019/20 with United and Inter both still in the Europa League, although the two clubs could only face each other if both make it through to the tournament’s final in Cologne, Germany.
Following the official confirmation of Sanchez's fate by both United and Inter on Thursday, many soccer fans agree he was a flop at Old Trafford.
Good luck to Alexis Sanchez at Inter. Will go down in history as one of Man United's worst ever signings. Cost more than £40m in wages. Scored three league goals - against Huddersfield, Swansea and Newcastle

Sanchez always tried but it just wasnt working and he was honest during his stay unlike other mercenaries.

Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward are responsible for his time at Man Utd being a failure not necessarily Sanchez himself.
If he came into Ole team as a new signing now ...?
It’s his own fault Kaveh he choose United for all the wrong reasons which never included footballing and there’s no denying the truth. His time at the club was forgettable, just like Di Maria and Falcao

I remember the excitement when Alexis Sanchez was announced and we couldn’t believe we’d actually signed him. Since then we’ve paid him £59m. Hands down the worst signing this club has ever made.

There's such relief at United getting Alexis Sanchez off their wage bill, that Inter's decision to give a 31yo a three-year contract is really escaping scrutiny.
