Fireboy DML's ‘Playboy’ Album Is A Breath Of Fresh Air [LISTEN]

Just three years in the music scene, Fireboy DML has proven that he is not a fluke but is here to stay for a long time with his latest studio album ‘Playboy’. 

In ‘Playboy’, Fireboy deviates a bit from his usual lover boy persona that we are used to in his previous albums.

He starts off the album with ‘Change’, a track that has him basking in the euphoria of the positive changes happening in his life.

His previously-released single ‘Bandana’ featuring his label mate, Asake, follows suit.

Fireboy blatantly puts on full display his playboy tendencies in ‘Ashawo’, where he puts the blame of his frivolities on alcohol intoxication.

‘Playboy’ track is rife with Fireboy's signature endearing vocals, “How do you want to play with the big playboy like me, girl do you want to play with the big playboy like me?”

Dominican-American rapper Euro is featured on ‘Adore’ and Fireboy doesn't fail to show off his soft rapping skills.

American singer Chris Brown is on hand to showcase his versatility as he hops on the Afrobeats song ‘Diana’ featuring Jamaican singer Shenseea.

As expected by fans, Rema doesn't disappoint on ‘Compromise’; both artistes give a perfect blend of melodies.

His hit single ‘Peru’ and the remix featuring British singer Ed Sheeran are also included in the album.

The upbeat tempo and perfect blend of guitars in ‘Afro Highlife’ will make the legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela give Fireboy DML a sly smile from his grave.

The budding star wraps up with the track ‘Glory’.

As far as one can see, it is safe to say that Fireboy has hit a perfect trifecta with the three bodies of works to his name — his debut album ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’, the critically-acclaimed sophomore ‘Apollo’ and now, ‘Playboy’.
