How Nigeria Stock Exchange Performed Today

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 5,575 deals on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, lower than the 6,050 deals it closed with on Monday, November 2, 2020. The volume reached 336,09 million units at the close of the market on Tuesday, lower than the 376.65 million units it closed with on Monday.

The value of trades recorded on Tuesday was NGN3,890 billion, higher than the NGN3,802 billion of Monday. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the All-Share Index reached 30,733.47 index points, higher than the 30,479.39 All-Share Index of Monday.

The stock market also ended with a NGN16,063 trillion equity capitalisation on Tuesday, higher than the NGN15,931 trillion recorded on Monday.

Top Five Gainers

Dangote Cement led the top gainers' chart after its stock price gained NGN9 to close trading at NGN169 per share after opening today's trading with NGN160 per share, according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AllNews.

CAP was second on the table, as its stock price gained NGN1.95 kobo to close the market with NGN22.3 kobo per share, having started trading today with NGN20.35 kobo per share.

Vitafoam was the third top gainer as its stock price closed the market with a NGN0.35 kobo gain to move from the opening price of NGN6.4 kobo per share to NGN6.75 kobo per share.

Dangote Sugar follows, closing the market with a gain of NGN0.25 kobo to end trading with NGN15.4 kobo per share from the opening share price of NGN15.15 kobo per share.

Oando was last on the top five gainers' table after its share price gained NGN0.18 kobo per share to close trading at NGN2.75 kobo per share, having opened trading at NGN2.57 kobo per share.

Top Five Losers

On the top of the losers' list is Stanbic IBTC, which had begun trading earlier today at NGN46.5 kobo per share, only to drop in price by NGN-0.5 kobo to close at NGN46 per share at the end of trading today.

GTBank was second on the chart after closing at NGN32 per share from its opening trade price of NGN32.5 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-0.5 kobo.

Guinness share price fell by NGN-0.45 kobo as its share price closed trading at NGN16.55 kobo per share, lower than the NGN17 per share it opened with.

Custodian also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.45 kobo to close trading at NGN5.6 kobo per share, below the NGN6.05 per share it opened with.

Flour Mill completed the top five losers chart after it closed trading with NGN28.4 kobo per share, declining by NGN-0.45 kobo from the NGN28.85 kobo per share it opened trading with.

Top Five Trades

AllNews learnt that the top trades in the stock market for today were Zenith Bank, which traded a volume of over 41.10 million units worth NGN895.64 million. First Bank was the second most traded stock today with over 40.62 million units worth over NGN258.04 million. UBA was next on the list, trading 32.13 million units worth NGN242.86 million.

Fidelity Bank was the fourth on the most traded stock list, closing the market with over 31.92 million units traded at a cost of over NGN77.98 million, while Access Bank completed the top five list with over 28.88 million units traded today, worth NGN232.04 million.
