A full five weeks after the N-Power registration 2020 closed, there is no new development from the Nigerian government, AllNews reports.
The N-Power Batch C recruitment closed at midnight of August 8th, 2020, yet, as at the time of publishing this report, the massive Nigerian youths who put in for the programme still do not know the next step, as the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria is not communicating anything tangible in respect of the fresh recruitment. Beneficiaries of the Nigerian Government's N-Power scheme are swooping on Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria, as some of them still have outstanding stipends, AllNews reports.
Farouq had disclosed recently that the reason some N-Power beneficiaries are yet to get their pay is that "the office of the Accountant-General is the last authority responsible for the release of their stipends". Read more here.
The social investment program created by the Federal Government in 2016 with the primary aim of reducing poverty is gradually experiencing a downturn. From delay in inhumane stipends that can't meet daily obligations of the volunteers to undefined or uncertain exit package plan for the N-Power beneficiaries among others.
