Man Utd vs Everton: Bruno Fernandes Is A Joy To Watch, Says

In the English Premier League (EPL), former Manchester United striker, Robin Van Persie says it is a joy to watch Bruno Fernandes play.

Fernandes found the back of the net with an outrageous goal in United's 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday (Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay with the other goals). Abdoulaye Doucouré, James Rodriguez and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the goalscorers for the Liverpool-based club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men remain second on the EPL table following that result. They trail Manchester City by two points, and have played two games more than their city rivals.

Since making his Manchester United debut early last year (2020), Fernandes has 21 goals and 16 assists.

The former Sporting Lisbon captain has now netted 13 league goals this season, more than any other midfielder in Europe's top five leagues.

In mid-January, the 26-year-old was named Premier League Player of the Month for December - breaking an English record in the process.

Fernandes became the first footballer in the English top flight to be named Player of the Month four times in a single calendar year.

He also picked up the award in February, May and November.

Lauding the Portuguese midfielder for his exploits in the Red Devils' shirt, 'RvP' as Van Persie is fondly called, imagined the amount of goals he'd have scored if he played alongside Fernandes during his active days.

"Bruno Fernandes ladies and gentleman. What a joy to watch him play! Just wondering," Retired Van Persie wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Saturday.

"How many goals for RvP with him in midfield..?"

United next host West Ham in the 5th round of the FA Cup on Tuesday.
