The Personal Assitant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie has revealed that the President will address a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday.
Taking to her social media page to make the announcement Onochie did not state the reason for the President's decision to address the lawmakers.

"President @MBuhari will address a joint Session of the National Assembly (@nassnigeria) on Thursday 10th December, 2020," Onochie tweeted.
It will be recalled that the lawmakers had in the cause of last week asked President Buhari to appear before the assembly over the increasing cases on insurgency attack in the Northern region.
The lawmakers while requesting that the President appear before them, asked him to immediately fire the service chiefs over their failure to protect lives and properties of Nigerians
It will be recalled that the massacre that happened in Zabarmari community in Jere local government of Borno state had heightened calls for the sack of President Buhari.
Calling for the President's sack, the Publisher of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore said that Buhari not his chief of staffs should be sacked.
Also reacting to the massacre Reno Omokri former aide to erstwhile President Goodluck Jonathan said that the President only cared about his personal security.
