She was born in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom on April 19, 1982, but grew in Calabar, Cross River state. Ini Edo attended Cornelius Connely College, Calabar for her secondary education and then she proceeded to University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom, where she had a National Diploma in Theatre Arts. After bagging her diploma, she went to University of Calabar, Cross-River and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Language.
Ini Edo acting career started in 2003 when she starred in the movie ‘Thick Madam’. However, her breakthrough came in 2004 when she acted in the movie ‘World Apart. Since her breakthrough, she has appeared in over 100 movies.
Some of the movies she has appeared in include; The One, World Apart, Indecent Girl, Negative Influence, Millionaire’s Daughter, Lonely Heart, No Where to Run, Stolen Tomorrow, Silence of the Gods, Traumatized, War Game, Power of Beauty, Ass on Fire, Price of Fame, Breath Game, The Patient, Chief Daddy and so on.
In 2011, Ini Edo was appointed as a youth ambassador by the United Nations Habitat alongside Ramsay Nouah and another star from Bollywood, Vikram Vinod. She was also featured as a judge in the Miss Black UK beauty pageant.
In 2016, she got appointed by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as the Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture and Tourism.
