Jim was born on September 25, 1976 in Libreville, Gabon, although he hails from Enugu Agidi village in Anambra State. He had his primary education in Gabon before moving to Nigeria where he attended Federal Government College, Kwali, Abuja for his secondary education. He is a graduate of the University of Jos where he had a diploma in Banking and Finance and also a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy.
Jim Iyke started out as a model before he joined Nollywood in 2001. The role he plays in movie earned him the title ‘Nollywood Bad Boy’. Ever since he joined the Nigerian movie industry, he has appeared in over 100 movies.
Some of the movies he has appeared in are World of Angels, Heavy Heart, Jungle of Heirs, Road to Hell, Cruz, The Desperate Housewife, Games Men Play, When Love Comes Around, Stalker ,Last Flight to Abuja, A Star in Heaven, American Driver, Love Birds, Seven and a Half Dates, Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons, Cultural Clash, Cold Feet.
In 2009, he founded his music label ‘Untamed Records’ where he produced an album ‘Who Am I?’. He featured some of Nigeria’s top musicians like Sound Sultan and 2baba.
He is also the CEO of Space Boutique, Untamed Productions and Untamed cars. He is also the founder of Jim Iyke Foundation for Children with Special Disabilities.
