Google Workplace Updates Expands Safety Features For Google Meet

Google has introduced new workplace updates that expand meeting moderation controls to Google Meet with several highly requested safety features in order to ease user control; and direct meetings. The controls available to users depend on whether they are using Meet as a regular user or as part of a Google Workspace team.

The new update is expected to allow all users assign who will have access to host controls among 25 co-hosts present at the meeting. This will let them limit who can share their screen, send chat messages, as well as mute all participants with a single click, end the meeting, and control who can enter the meeting (though this last feature is only available to certain Google Workspace versions). Google Introduces One Plan VPN To Android Users Outside U.S.

Google has announced that One plan VPN is now available to Android users Outside the U.S. like Mexico, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

The One plan VPN has until Tuesday been limited to customers in the U.S., but now Google is letting a far greater number of countries get their hands on the goodies. To subscribe on the 2TB / $10-per month (or higher) Google One plan, you get a little something extra over those who do not: Access to Google’s mobile VPN. Read more here.

Google Cloud Appoints Niral Patal Regional Director, Sub-Saharan Africa

Google Cloud has announced in a statement on Tuesday that it has appointed Niral Patel as its Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Google Cloud Managing Director, Turkey, Middle East and Africa, Rahman Al Thehaiban made the announcement in Lagos and said that Patel would be responsible for leading Google Cloud businesses across Sub-Saharan Africa. Read more here.

Google Search Unveils Interactive 3D Periodic Table, More Learning Tools

Google Search has unveiled an interactive periodic table of elements that includes a 3D model displayed on large screens, while an Assistant “Live Translation” button will appear on mobile when searching for a word or phrase.

The new Search feature was unveiled alongside a few new features in Google Assistant designed to help families, including updates to Family Bell reminders. Read more here.
