Abia Government To Review Lease On Cattle Market, Quarries

The new administration in Abia State has said that it will review the lease on popular Lokpanta Cattle Market in Umunnochi Local Government Area.

The state government also disclosed that revenues accruing from the market and quarry sites in Umunnochi will be properly harmonised to block revenue leakages in line with Governor Alex Otti’s zero-tolerance for fraud. Read more here.

Member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), Adamu Omadefu has been dragged before a Federal High Court sitting in Lafia over alleged forgery of secondary school certificate.

Iran To Build Regional Natural Gas Hub

Iran is working with Russia, Qatar, and Turkmenistan to establish a natural gas hub in the Persian Gulf, according to Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji on Wednesday.  

“With the cooperation of Russia, Turkmenistan, and Qatar, we are trying to have a gas hub in the Asaluyeh region, and its preparations are being planned,” Iranian media quoted Owji as saying on Wednesday. Read more here.

According to the Kremlin, Presidents Cyril Ramaphosa and Vladimir Putin held a telephone call on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, regarding Africa's role in brokering a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
