Personal Life

Chris Pratt was born in Virginia, Minnesota, the youngest of his parents' children. He met actress Anna Faris in 2007 and they became engaged in late 2008. They married in Indonesia in July 2009. Their son Jack was born in August 2012.

Pratt and Faris split in 2017 and the actor started a relationship with author Kathrine Schwarzenegger in June 2018. Their engagement was announced in January 2019 and they tied the knot in June of the same year. Their child Lyla Maria was born in August 2020.

The movie star is a non-denominational Christian.

Education

He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1997 and dropped out of community college midway through his first semester.

Career

Pratt was discovered by actress and director Rae Dawn Chong at the age of 19 when he was waiting tables at a restaurant. He was cast in her directorial debut, the short horror film Cursed Part 3.

He played Bright Abbott in the series Everwood and joined The O.C. in its fourth season, portraying the character of activist Winchester 'Che' Cook. He also made a brief appearance in the 2008 action film Wanted alongside James McAvoy.

His breakthrough role came in 2009 when he started playing Andy Dwyer in the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation. He was next seen in Moneyball (2011).

The actor portrayed a Navy SEAL in Zero Dark Thirty (2012) and starred opposite Joaquin Phoenix in the sci-fi drama Her (2013).

Pratt's career experienced a turning point when he was cast as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). He would reprise the role in several other MCU movies.

He was cast as the lead in Jurassic World (2015), playing Owen Grady, a dinosaur expert. He reprised the role in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2015). 

Pratt was among the ensemble cast of the western The Magnificent Seven (2016) and voiced the character of Emmet in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019).

He also provided his vocal talent to the Disney animated film Onward (2020), alongside Tom Holland.
